September Morn

I have said before that Austin loves to be outside, and he did the cutest thing a week or so ago. It was like 8:30 in the morning and we were just all getting up and changing diapers and getting ready for breakfast and all of that. I went to take the diaper to put in the outside garbage can and as i walk out the door, Austin takes off the other way into his room. I didnt think much of it, and i went outside and threw away the diaper and when i opened the door to come in Austin was standing by the door with his shoes in his hand (and no pants on) with a look like he was about to cry. I finally realized that he had run to get his shoes to come outside with me, he thought we were going outside to play. It broke my heart, so that morning, we went outside and played on the slide for half an hour before breakfast and he had an absolute ball. He is the cutest kid there ever was. He brings a smile to my face and happiness to my life everyday.

We also went to the Cabin a couple of weeks ago. At the cabin we keep a battery powered ATV that the kids can ride on, and they played on it all afternoon. He finally figured out how to make it drive, but couldnt figure out how to steer. So cute to watch. We went fishing at the lake with Kevin, he doesnt have the patience yet to wait for the fish, but he did chase alot of ducks and squirls.

We went to the Zoo last weekend and he had so much fun. The first animal we saw was a peacock and he liked it so much and didnt want to leave until I told him there was an elephant. then he got really excited and each animal we saw he knew what sound they make...except for the giraffes. I dont even know what sound they make. Then we rode the train, and i couldnt take the grin off my face because of the grin he had on his. He had a ball, but by the time we left (4 hours later) he was tuckered out and both him and Mercedes fell asleep in the stroller.

Family pictures for $4.94

So I am way too cheap to pay for professional pictures. It's not that I don't think they would turn out great, I just don't have that kind of money. Kevin calls me a cheap skate, I call it frugal. When we were at my brother's wedding, I had a family friend take my personal camera and take a few snapshots. Then I took them to Wal-mart and had them printed for a whopping $4.94. I think they turned out pretty good. Wal-mart made me sign a paper stating that I was not ripping of a professional photographer.

August 7, 2009

August 7, 2009 was a very special day for two reasons. It would have been my sweet brother Austins 23rd birthday. In honor of that (I am assuming) my brother Dayton and his new wife Bri were married. I was reminded at their wedding of how precious strong love is. It was a beautiful ceremony, and I know Austin would be so happy! Never forget young love. Congrats Dayton and Bri, and I wish you guys a long and happy life, and happy birthday bro, I love you.

Yeah, I am a bad blogger

I have been asked by a number of people why I haven't updated my blog in like.....two months. So this is my summer sum up.
We have some some real cool things this summer. Some of which include sidewalk chalk, bubbles, movies in the park, fireworks, swimming, family and friends. These are some snapshots of the fun things we have done.

Summer Time Camping

This summer we have done a lot of camping. We have gone to North Fork, Uintahs, and Bear Lake. We have had so much flippin fun!! There is just something about camping and seeing the stars in the mountains, hiking to waterfalls, killer egg sausage dutch oven, a vicious game of spoons, bad apple crisp, kayaking on a lake ,killing misquotes, jumping from the side of a pool onto hot tub covers, and dinner with a lake view and friends. I like it, I love it. We will do more of it!

Lagoon

We went to Lagoon over the weekend, and quite frankly it rained on us. Austin, however, had the best seat of the house. He was in his bubble stroller surrounded by blankets, snacks, and he could watch the rain from under a clear plastic protection. After a while he did get bored, and resorted to this....

I am just glad we can bounce back for cheep, or I would have been super bummed by the weather.

This trailers a rockin!

I wish I had done a before and after thing here but picture this. 30 year old blue flat matted dirty disgusting stained carpet, with brown and orange plaid beds and bench covers.

and now, introducing our newly renovated.....TENT TRAILER!

Thanks to the Tuckers for the carpet, and Kevin's mom for recovering the bed and bench pads we have a whole new thing going on here.
Kevin convinced me that we needed a tent trailer as a part of our 72 hour emergency kit. If an earthquake was to hit, this would be our temporary home that had heat, a stove, a fridge and a place to sleep. Now, I know he was just saying this to get me to buy one so we can take it on our family outings, but he has a valid point. So we saved up and were able to purchase this lovely item. I couldn't stand it being old and dirty so for the grand total cost of $80.00 we were able to remodel. and viola! I am so stoked to go camping!!

Howdy

Over Memorial Day weekend, we went up to the cabin in the Uintahs. We love to go there, and the older Austin gets the more fun he has. This year he was actually old enough to really enjoy the ATV ride. He also spent a little time out in the yard playing in the "kids cabin". We had a great time.
However, the trip home was a real 'I told you so' trip. Kevin didnt want to come home, but I did. I wanted to come home for church, he wanted to vacation. Now before you all think Kevin is the devil because he wanted to ditch church, hear this story out. We were driving through the canyon in a rain storm when our windshield wipers stoped working. It actually was really frightening, and after we pulled over off the side of the road, I got the 'I told you we should have stayed' look from Kevin. We tried to see if we could fix it, but we were unsucessful. With the combination of toilet paper, and a little luck of a break in the storm we were able to make it home safely. Things like this do not detour us from camping.

These are some cute pictures of the Fathers and sons outting the Kevin and Austin went to. I swear, he makes a pretty handsome cowboy. When kevin sets Austin in the truck, he says "brooooom broooom" and grabs the stearing wheel and the gear shift. I am actually pretty sure one day he sill figure out the gear shift and I will be sorry.

Kevin plays church softball on thursdays, and it really fun to go watch them as a family outting. Yes, i feel like I am packing the whole house with me to the field, and everyone looks at me like I am some sort of mule when I am packing it over to the bleechers, but it was sure fun to watch. go 17th ward!

A Blessed Day

Yeah, I know, its been like a month since Mercedes was blessed, but the day was very special to our family. So I wanted to blog and show off some pictures and just say how thankful I am to be blessed with two little angles who are both miracles. Mom loves you both!

Then ,we went SWIMMING for the first time. The Clearfield Aquatic Center is a really fun place that has an indoor pool year round. I thought Austin would be reserved about the water, but he loved it! We got him a little tube and he just walked all around the kiddie pool splashin and laughin. He kept trying to dunk his head under the water and blow bubbles. A couple of times he swallowed a little pool water, but thats ok because we all no nobody pees in the pool. right? It was absolutely adorable! Then my cute sister got Mercedes a swimming suit and we got her in the pool to and it relaxed her. If i could, I would go at least twice a month through the summer. I am going to try.

words of wisdom

Ashleys blog inspired me to write down a few things I have learned and have been thinking lately.
1. They are only little once...enjoy it while you can.
2. Even though you think you have baby proofed your house, they will find something else.
3. Start your traditions now, if you wait too long they will be doing traditions with their own children, and you will have missed out.
4. Work will NEVER be as important as your children. Be home as early as you can.
5. So what, you didn't get to brushing your teeth today, try again tomorrow.
6. Good friends are hard to come by. If you find some, hold on to them.
7. Don't ever burn a bridge, someday the turn tables will....
8. Its not so much the activity you are doing, its just fun to be together.
9. Moms can still comfort you when you need it, no matter how old you get.
10. Do what cha gotta do. It doesn't matter what others think.
11. When it comes to kids, silence is usually a bad thing.
12. Remember how angelic they look while they sleep. It will help when they are screaming.

On April 23rd it was Austins first birthday. He is SOOOO spoiled! He got lots of fun new toys from grandpa and grandma. We had a BBQ in the back, and it was really fun. Austin at first was reluctant to dig in the cake. He kept looking at me like I was going to yell at him for touching it. When he figured out that it was OK to dig in the cake, he went all at it.
I cannot believe that he is one year old already! That time flew!

A little Austin update

Austin has become speedy gonzolas and Whodini and the same time. He has learned how to get to the "no no" places really fast. He is into the toilet paper, and the toilet itself, the tuperware, and all other kinds of things you would never think of. Just today he pulled all of the heat vents off the floors and tried to stash his prized toys down in the duct. Thats nice. I swear, he is only 1...I cant wait until he is two.

What the crap?

If you don't want to read a disgusting story, just stop right now.
When I had not heard anything from Austin this morning by nine o'clock I should have know something was up. When I walked into his room to get him out of his crib, the smell hit me first, then I saw what was going on. Austin had pooped so much that it had crept out of his diaper and all over the sheets. Instead of crying like a normal baby would do when they had a poopy mess, he decided to make the best of it.
He has been in this stage lately that he wants to touch everything, get into everything and of course everything goes in the mouth. Naturally, he did this with his mess. When I walked in, he had made drawings with it on his walls, colored his crib bars, made designs all over his toys and animals with it, and of course, he ate it. Yadee yadee yada we had a fun morning.

Happy 4 Years!

Today is mine and Kevin's four year anniversary. I want to tell him that he is an awesome husband and father, and I wouldn't trade the life we have for the world. Happy anniversary honey.
