For a long time now Mercedes has been telling everyone about her alleged dance class and what she learns and what she wears and who her teacher is. Well, Mercedes has not been taking a dance class. She has quite the imagination. So when the city teamed up with Head over Heals and offered a summer dance class we signed her up. She was so excited to go! So the first day we had class, she spent the majority of the time on the floor crying. She didnt talk to anyone, would not participate and came over the last 10 minutes and put her shoes on and asked to go home. For a bribery of 5 skittles she finished the class (meaning she stood out on her polkadot until class was over). I tried to be encouraging and Kevin gave her a little pep talk and we went to dance again today and she did GREAT! She enjoyed herself. She was skipping with the class, she was sliding with the class. She learned first and second position of ballet, and a small dance. I am so proud!
